Meet Arden James (He/Him)

Arden, APC, NCC, is an associate therapist who helps people weighed down by food, body, trauma, and life’s pressures reconnect with themselves and others through curiosity, creativity, compassion, and a dose of honest, no-nonsense insight.

Life’s challenges can weigh us down, leaving us disconnected from our bodies, our emotions, and even from the people around us. Arden helps people find their way back to connection, specializing in eating disorders, body image, trauma, neurodivergence, and the pressures of everyday life.

He believes food and body struggles aren’t really about food at all… they’re about the emotions underneath: grief, anger, sadness, pain, and the search for control. With curiosity, creativity, compassion, and a dose of honest insight, Arden helps clients untangle those emotions, uncover the roots of their patterns, and create new, more empowering stories.

Arden is passionate about the power of connection not only in one-on-one work, but also in group therapy, where healing can come from being seen and supported by others walking a similar path. He also brings his experience in residential treatment, where he supported clients facing eating disorders, addiction recovery, suicidality, personality disorders, and other complex challenges, always with the goal of helping people feel less alone in their struggles.

As a Latino male in a larger body, a parent, and a former IT professional, Arden knows firsthand the weight of expectations, burnout, and the pull toward unhealthy coping. His lived and professional experience spans fat bias, chronic illness, eating disorders, addiction recovery, trauma, and neurodivergence. He is also a proud LGBTQIA+ ally, offering an inclusive, body-positive, and sex-positive space where clients feel safe to explore all parts of themselves.

Warm, direct, and creative, Arden offers a therapeutic space that is both compassionate and real, and a place to reconnect with your emotions, your body, and your truest self. He is a licensed associate therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and sees clients in-person in our Decatur and Sandy Springs locations, as well as virtually.
